Siremar ribbed tomato is a large-fruited ribbed variety, with deeply grooved fruit and flavourful flesh, from a vigorous and productive plant.
It belongs to the species Solanum lycopersicum, family Solanaceae. A vigorous indeterminate plant, typical of ribbed slicing varieties.
Sow in a heated seedbed between February and March; transplant in April-May, once night temperatures are stable.
Requires sturdy staking and fertile, well-drained soil; regular watering supports the development of the large ribbed fruits.
The large, deeply ribbed fruits are harvested at full ripeness once evenly red across the whole surface.
Like other large-fruited varieties, it benefits from good canopy ventilation to prevent blossom end rot and fungal diseases.
A versatile slicing variety, excellent both raw in summer salads and for sauces thanks to its abundant flesh.
Rich in lycopene and potassium, Siremar tomato has antioxidant properties beneficial to overall wellbeing.
