Pachino Reginella tomato belongs to the "camone" family, a vigorous, early variety producing round, glossy fruit with the intense flavour typical of pachino tomatoes.
It belongs to the species Solanum lycopersicum, family Solanaceae. A vigorous indeterminate plant, with a habit similar to other camone selections.
Sow in a heated seedbed between February and March; transplant in April-May.
For best development it needs saline soils, carefully irrigated: this soil characteristic is what brings out its typical flavour.
Fruits reach about 60 g in weight, with a round shape and bright red colour at full ripeness; harvest once well coloured.
Like other camone selections, it benefits from good canopy ventilation and crop rotation to limit soil-borne fungal diseases.
Ideal eaten fresh in salads, but also good for appetisers and preserves thanks to its concentrated flavour.
Rich in lycopene and vitamin C, pachino Reginella tomato has antioxidant properties and a well-balanced sweet-tart flavour.
