Clara Oval White Eggplant
A medium-early hybrid, Clara eggplant produces oval fruits with pure white, slightly ribbed skin, valued for their meaty flesh with a delicate, low-bitterness flavour.
The Clara Eggplant Plant
It belongs to the species Solanum melongena, family Solanaceae. An upright, semi-open plant of medium size, with a broad green spineless calyx accompanying the oval fruit (about 10x13 cm, up to 580 g).
How to Sow Clara Eggplant
Sow in a heated seedbed between February and March, transplanting into the field or greenhouse from April-May, once night temperatures are stably above 12°C.
How to Grow Clara Eggplant
Suitable for both greenhouse and open-field cultivation, it needs fertile, well-drained soil, sunny exposure and regular watering; harvest occurs about 60-70 days after transplanting.
