Yellow Cherry Pepper powder is made by grinding the small golden round fruits of this variant, with a sweet, mildly spicy flavor.
The source pepper, Capsicum annuum, grows on a compact, bushy plant about 40-50 cm tall, also well suited to pot and balcony growing.
Sowing takes place between February and March in a heated seedbed, transplanting after the last spring frosts.
It prefers sunny spots and well-drained soil; it produces numerous clusters of small round fruits throughout the season.
The fruits have a distinctive round, golden-yellow shape at full ripeness and must be well dried before grinding.
Avoid waterlogging and monitor for aphids and whitefly; ensure good airflow between plants.
The powder has a medium-low heat level, around 5,000-10,000 SHU, with sweet notes: perfect for sauces, dressings and Mediterranean dishes.
Rich in capsaicin and carotenoids responsible for the fruit's golden color.
