Dried Habanero White Bullet Pepper is a Capsicum chinense cultivar of Peruvian origin, characterized by small, ivory-white fruits, among the latest-maturing in the Habanero family.
The plant has a compact, bushy habit, also suitable for ornamental growing thanks to the small ivory-colored fruits that stand out among the green ovate leaves; the fruits are smaller and more regular than the classic Habanero White.
Sow in a heated seedbed between February and March, keeping temperatures constant at 25-28°C until germination, which usually takes 2-3 weeks.
Transplant from April to June, once temperatures start to rise steadily. It prefers full sun, permeable fertile soil; maturation is slightly later than other Habanero variants.
The heat level is high (about 250,000 SHU), mixed with a pleasant sweetness: gloves are essential when handling the fruits, carefully avoiding contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
It can be affected by aphids, spider mites and whitefly; avoiding wetting the foliage during watering reduces the risk of fungal disease.
The high capsaicin content gives strong thermogenic and metabolism-stimulating properties. Dried Habanero White Bullet pepper, prized for its fruity, delicately sweet flavor, is used ground into powder or flakes for sauces and salads.
