The hybrid Sticcoli cabbage variety produces several small florets, uniform in length and dark green in colour, with a sweet, pleasant flavour.
Its botanical name is Brassica oleracea var. italica, belonging to the Cruciferae family (Brassicaceae). The hybrid plant produces numerous small florets, entirely uniform in length and texture, with a compact size.
Sowing should be done in a well-worked, sunny seedbed, preferring mild-temperature periods to encourage even germination.
Thanks to its uniform production of small florets, Sticcoli cabbage is well suited to successive harvests, ensuring a continuous yield over time.
Keep watering regular and harvest the florets while still young and compact, to best enjoy their sweet flavour.
Like other Brassicaceae, it can be affected by cabbage white caterpillars, aphids and flea beetles, especially during the early growth stages of the seedlings.
Rich in vitamins and minerals, this sweet-flavoured cabbage lends itself to various kitchen preparations, both raw and cooked.
