The Trilly mini San Marzano tomato is a highly productive variety of the San Marzano family, whose fruits grow in clusters and reach an average weight of about 20 grams.
It belongs to the species Solanum lycopersicum, family Solanaceae. An indeterminate plant of good vigour, resistant to most soil-borne diseases.
Sow in a heated seedbed between February and March, with soil temperature between 20 and 22°C; transplant between April and May.
It needs good staking given its high productivity; it prefers sunny positions and regular watering, both in open field and in greenhouse.
The small, elongated fruits, with their characteristic deep red colour, are harvested in clusters from mid-July through September; no specific pruning is required.
This variety is particularly resistant to Verticillium and Fusarium wilt; good canopy ventilation still helps prevent downy mildew and powdery mildew.
Thanks to its sweet, firm and juicy flesh it is perfect eaten fresh as a snack, at summer aperitifs or to enrich salads.
Rich in lycopene, vitamin C and potassium, Trilly tomato has antioxidant properties beneficial to overall wellbeing.
