Tirouge striped round tomato is a vigorous, productive variety yielding round, red fruit striped with yellow, about 120 grams each.

It belongs to the species Solanum lycopersicum, family Solanaceae. A very productive, vigorous plant producing medium-sized fruit.

Sow in a heated seedbed between February and March; transplant between April and May.

It adapts well to both greenhouse and open field; regular watering favours even development of the characteristic stripes.

The round fruits, red with yellowish stripes, reach 120 grams and are harvested once well coloured.

Like other medium-fruited varieties it benefits from good canopy ventilation to prevent downy and powdery mildew.

Thanks to its sweet, delicate flavour, it is excellent raw in salads, where the distinctive yellow striping also enhances presentation.

Rich in lycopene, vitamin C and potassium, Tirouge tomato has antioxidant properties beneficial to overall wellbeing.
