Fantino orange datterino tomato is an early variety with bright orange colour, elongated date-shaped fruit gathered in elegant clusters.
It belongs to the species Solanum lycopersicum, family Solanaceae. A healthy plant resistant to common soil-borne diseases.
Sow in a heated seedbed between February and March; transplant between April and May.
It needs staking to support the fruit clusters; regular watering favours pulpiness and sweetness of the fruit.
The fruits, about 15-20 grams, have an elongated oval shape and deep orange colour; they are harvested in clusters once well coloured.
The plant shows good resistance to common soil-borne diseases; it still benefits from good ventilation to prevent fungal issues.
Pulpy, sweet and not watery, with low acidity, it is excellent raw in salads, as a snack or starter, and ideal for light, delicately flavoured sauces.
Rich in lycopene, vitamin C and potassium, Fantino datterino tomato has antioxidant properties beneficial to overall wellbeing.
