Salomone dwarf round tomato is an F1 hybrid variety with determinate (dwarf) growth, mid-late cycle, with large flattened and ribbed fruits of intense red color and very firm flesh.
Belonging to the species Solanum lycopersicum, family Solanaceae. A vigorous dwarf-type plant that does not require staking as it reaches a contained height; ideal for open field.
Sow in heated seedbed between February and March; transplant between April and May in open field, when temperatures are stably above 15°C.
Prefers soils rich in organic matter, well-structured and draining. Requires full sun exposure and regular watering, especially during fruit development.
Despite dwarf habit, fruits reach large size (300-350 g); harvest when fruits turn completely red. Cracking resistance facilitates harvesting and transport.
Variety with good resistance to main fungal pathogens; benefits from adequate spacing between plants to favor air circulation.
Excellent tomato for fresh consumption, salads and dried tomato preparation; large size and firm flesh make it versatile in the kitchen. Also suitable for preservation.
Rich in lycopene and vitamin C; very firm flesh retains nutrients well even after processing into preserved products.
